On January 26th, NB&A Social Security Attorney Barbara Juneau Mixon hosted a grand opening party for their Little Free Library, attended by many friends and neighbors. The Little Free Library is now open to the public. The idea is to foster an exchange of books… take one, leave one.
Barbara’s grandmother, Montez Juneau, was the Cottonport, Louisiana librarian for many years. This small library is Barbara’s way of paying forward Montez’s love of reading. “Our Little Free Library doesn’t just belong to us, it belongs to the whole town,” she says. “It’s our hope that this Little Free Library will bring a little more joy, a little more connection and a whole lot more books to our community.” Each year, nearly 10 million books are shared in Little Free Libraries.
